Kashgar Festival

One of the most important festivals celebrated by the Uyghur people is the Eid al-Adha Corban Festival, another one is known as Id al-fitr or Roza Bayrami which marks the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting for Muslims and is a time for feasting, prayer, and giving thanks. During this festival, Uyghur families gather together to enjoy special meals, exchange gifts, dance and visit friends and relatives.

Another significant festival for the Uyghur people is Novruz, which is the Persian New Year and is celebrated by many cultures across Central Asia. Novruz marks the beginning of spring and is a time for renewal, family gatherings, and traditional rituals. Uyghurs celebrate Novruz with music, dance, food, and the traditional practice of jumping over bonfires to symbolize cleansing and renewal.

In addition to these major festivals, the Uyghur people also celebrate other cultural and religious events throughout the year, such as the Maxrap festival, which is a traditional gathering of Uyghur communities to share music, dance, poetry, and food.
