What to Visit in Nalati?

The most famous two grasslands in Nalati are Sky Grassland and River Valley Grassland, the grassland is approximately 150 kilometers long and sits at an elevation of 3,000 - 4,500 meters above sea level.

Sky Grassland

Sky Grassland (空中草原) is a place where you can have the feeling that the grassland is so close to the sky. The Sky Grassland is the most representative highlight in Nalati and is a must-see because of its high altitude of about 2200m. It is a basin in the middle of the mountains with beautiful grass and running water.

Summer is the most popular time to visit. During this period, the mountains undergo a magic transformation. The ice and snow have melted. The grassland is light green, rolling along the mountain ranges. If you stand in the middle of the Summer Ranch and look down, you can see the village in the distance. You can also see the grasslands at lower altitudes from a bird's eye view.

River Valley Grassland

River Valley Grassland(河谷草原), also known as Hegu Grassland, is renowned for its stunning valley landscape, which combines vast grasslands with flowing water. As you travel to River Valley Grassland, you'll be treated to views of snow-capped peaks, dense forests, lush green hills, and expansive meadows. Along the scenic road, you can catch sight of the Gunes River, resembling a shimmering silver-blue ribbon as it winds through the wide valley. Additionally, you'll see endless grasslands on both sides of the road, adorned with various types of flowers. From a distance, the mountainside of the snow-capped peaks is covered with thick, deep forests, creating a lush green blanket. At the foot of the mountains, you'll observe groups of cattle and sheep leisurely grazing on the green grasslands, as this area serves as both a scenic attraction and a grazing ground for local herdsmen.

Please note that tourists are required to take a tourist bus from the tourist center to Hegu Grassland. The fare for the bus is 40 CNY. Additionally, if you visit Sky Grassland first, you will need to return to the Tourist Center and then take the bus to Hegu Grassland.

During the winter, Nalati Grassland is also a wonderful place to visit. In addition to the famous summertime, the winter offers a different experience with snow-capped landscapes and opportunities for activities such as skiing, snowboarding, and sledding.

When you travel, what kind of souvenirs do you usually bring back with you? I recommend visiting Nalati Grassland in the winter to witness the snow against the rugged mountains and clear blue skies. Remember to keep warm as Nalati can get quite cold during winter, with temperatures often dropping below freezing. Be sure to pack warm, insulated clothing, including hats, gloves, scarves, and sturdy snow boots to keep your feet warm and dry.
