Mid-Autumn Festival


The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, Moonlight Festival, Moon Evening, Autumn Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, Moon Festival, Moon Festival, Reunion Festival, etc., is one of the four traditional festivals in China, and its date falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month.


It originated in ancient times, popularized in the Han Dynasty, took shape in the early years of the Tang Dynasty, and prevailed after the Song Dynasty. The festival is a synthesis of seasonal customs in autumn, and most of the festival customs it contains have ancient origins. On this day, people usually have family reunions, enjoy the full moon, eat traditional mooncakes, appreciate the lanterns, enjoy the osmanthus flowers and drink osmanthus wine.
