After a good night's rest, immerse yourself in the rich history and culture of Kashgar. After a hearty breakfast, your first stop is Gaotai Village, a traditional Uyghur community where you can witness their unique way of life. With over 600 years of history, this village has been carefully restored, offering a glimpse into the past. Don't forget to take photos at the beautifully preserved entrance!
Next, head to the east gate of the Ancient City of Kashgar for a leisurely city walk. Wander through the labyrinthine streets, visit the iconic Id Kah Mosque (remember to remove your shoes and refrain from taking photos inside), and soak in the vibrant atmosphere. Take a break at a local teahouse, sip on traditional Uyghur tea, and enjoy live music or even join in a dance. As the day winds down, treat yourself to a feast of local delicacies at Hanbazaar. With the excitement of Kashgar behind you, after breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Tashkurgan County. Along the way, you'll pass through the stunning Oytag Red Mountain Area, the dramatic Gaizi Gorge, and the breathtaking White Sand Lake (3,300 meters). You'll also stop at the serene Karakul Lake (3,600 meters), where the reflections of the surrounding peaks will leave you in awe.
In the afternoon, gear up for a 30 km cycling adventure on the legendary China-Pakistan Friendship Highway. Today marks a new challenge, as your adventure begins with a short drive to the entrance of the famous Panlong Ancient Road in Waqia Township. Snap a photo at the iconic sign before starting your 15 km uphill ride, which includes a challenging 1,000-meter elevation gain. If the climb feels too intense, you can opt to ride part of the way and continue by vehicle. Along the way, enjoy a packed lunch amidst the stunning scenery.
After conquering the Panlong Ancient Road, you'll make your way back to Tashkurgan County, stopping at the mesmerizing Bandeer Blue Lake (Xiabandi Reservoir). Compare its striking blue hues to those of Sayram Lake as you take in the serene beauty. On the return journey, follow the Yarkand River, surrounded by towering mountains. Once back in Tashkurgan, visit the historic Stone City to learn more about the region's fascinating history. Tonight, rest and recharge at your hotel.
After a refreshing night in Tashkurgan, after breakfast, set off on a scenic drive back to Kashgar. Along the way, enjoy the changing landscapes and prepare for an afternoon of cycling. You'll ride 50 km through the picturesque countryside, getting a closer look at the local way of life in southern Xinjiang.
Upon arriving in Shache, explore the charming Shache Old City. Stroll through Kazanqi Street and visit the lively Subi Night Market, where you can experience the local culture and sample delicious regional dishes. Tonight, you'll stay in a comfortable hotel in Shache, ready for more adventures tomorrow.
With Shache's charm still fresh in your mind, start your day with a visit to the Yarkand Khanate Palace, where you'll witness a unique city gate opening ceremony. Explore the palace to learn about the history of the Yarkand Khanate and enjoy captivating performances of the Twelve Muqam (Uyghur classical music) and Dawaz (Uyghur tightrope walking). Ready to step into the heart of the desert? Today, you'll embark on an epic journey along the Desert Highway, the second of its kind in China. This 443 km route takes you through 407 km of desert, offering a truly unique experience. As you cycle 50 km along the highway, you'll pass by the occasional poplar tree and witness the stark beauty of the desert landscape. Enjoy a packed lunch amidst the vast expanse of sand.
After your ride, continue by vehicle to Aral City, where you'll spend the night. Reflect on the day's adventures as you relax in your hotel.
Your final day of adventure begins with a drive to the magnificent Wensu Grand Canyon, often referred to as the "King of Canyons". Marvel at the diverse landscapes, including colorful mountains, towering rock formations, and winding riverbeds. After exploring the canyon, enjoy lunch in Wensu County before cycling 50 km to Kuqa.

Preparation and Physical Fitness
Even if you don't ride frequently or have limited physical stamina, you can still participate in our cycling tour. Our support vehicle follows the group throughout the journey, carrying all your luggage so you can ride light. Professional guides will accompany you, and rest stops will be arranged according to your energy levels. During breaks, you'll have access to food, water, seasonal fruits, and energy supplements. If you feel tired, you can always communicate with the guide and take a break in the support vehicle. Once rested, you can continue riding if you wish.
Weather Conditions
In case of rain, strong winds, or other severe weather conditions, our support vehicle will promptly assist in relocating to avoid the bad weather. If the weather improves, you can resume cycling. For light rain, we provide disposable raincoats if you prefer to continue riding.
On-the-Road Supplies
During the ride, we will arrange energy snacks, bananas, coffee, and hot drinks at each rest stop to ensure you maintain your energy levels, especially during long climbs.
Mobile Signal
In remote or mountainous areas, mobile signals may be weak or intermittent. Please make sure to handle any important matters before starting the ride.
Transportation, Accommodation, and Meals
Our transportation includes vehicles like the Jiangling Transit or shuttle vans, depending on your needs. Breakfast is usually provided at the hotel, while lunch is arranged at suitable locations along the route, often featuring local dishes like noodles or rice. Dinner is customized to your preferences, allowing you to enjoy Xinjiang's local cuisine. Accommodations are selected to ensure comfort after a day of riding.
Bicycle Rental and Equipment
If you rent a bicycle from us, we provide helmets and offer a range of bikes, including Giant mountain bikes, flat-bar road bikes, and electric-assist bikes. Choose according to your preference and physical condition. Electric-assist bikes are recommended for those who prefer a less strenuous ride.
Essential Items for Desert Road Cycling
Pack light but essential items such as thermal clothing, casual wear, quick-drying undergarments, cycling gear, gloves, sunglasses, and appropriate footwear. Don't forget sunscreen, a water bottle, chargers, power banks, and most importantly, your ID card for entrance tickets and hotel check-ins.
Bringing Your Own Bicycle
You are welcome to bring your own bicycle. Please ship it to our address ten days in advance, and our technicians will assemble it for you. If you prefer to assemble it yourself, please inform us beforehand.
Documentation of the Journey
We will capture your cycling experience through photos, videos, and drone footage, which will be shared with you as memories of your journey.
