9 Days Bayinbuluk Grassland, Sayram Lake & Apricot Blossom Adventure

Today, you will take your flight to Urumqi, known as the pearl of the west. Upon arrival, we will meet you at the airport and bring you to downtown Urumqi to check in your hotel. Have a good rest and get ready for a series of exciting explorations in Xinjiang starting tomorrow!

A new day starts from crossing the Tianshan Mountain. We will drive at the foot of Tianshan Mountain, and along the way, you can admire the beautiful scenery.

After arriving in Korla, known as the "City of Pears" and the "City of Petroleum", we will stop before the Iron Gate, which was a very important pass in the ancient Silk Road.

Walking along the Peacock River after dinner, you can experience the local lifestyle.

Enjoy your leisure time in the morning, then we will head to Bayinbuluk by car to explore an attracting scenery in Bayanbulak Grassland. As the second largest grassland in China, with verdant grass, flock of sheep and various plants, it is a fairyland which is worth for you to spend your time. Then we are going to Swan Lake, the unique natural reserve for swan in China. It is the paradise of flocks of wild swan.

Please note you will need special Xinjiang Travel Permit to Bayinbuluk which will be applied 4months in prior.

Today is full day sightseeing in Naraty Grassland, one of the four famous grasslands in the world. Prairie is as beautiful as in a poem or a picture. There are springs densely distributed here. Every year, from May to September, with flowers all blossoming out here and numerous herds gathering around, a great number of tourists domestic and abroad are attracted here. The Nalati Prairie is also called "Deer Garden" in history and an ideal place for people of the pasture to exchange materials and hold cultural activities. Ride a horse in the vast grassland or explore the traditional Kazakh way of life is also an activity that you can't miss in this place. 

Having a wonderful day with blooming Apricot Flowers. Today you will enjoy the tour of the picturesque Tuergen Apricot Valley, located in Xinyuan County, Yili, and close to the border of Kazakhstan. Apricot Valley has for years been attracting intrepid tourists who are eager to catch a glimpse of the majestic sea of pink and white apricot blossom that arrives every spring. This county has the largest apricot forest in Xinjiang and if you want to see it for yourself then you're in luck.

We will spend the night in Xinyuan.

Morning excursion starts from driving back to Yining.

Along the way, we will first stop at Kurdening Park. The grassland in Yili are located in the east-west river valley, but Kurdening is in a north-south mountain valley. In Kazakh, it means “transverse valley”. The special north-south trend makes this place warm in winter and cool in summer, and the climate is pleasant in all seasons, so it is not only a famous scenic spot in Yili, but also a resort for summer tourism. With both the elegance of Jiangnan and the roughness of grassland scenery, Kurdening attracts more and more domestic and foreign tourists.

Our next stop is Kazanqi Folk Village, the only large-scale cultural scenic spot in Northern Xinjiang, which mainly reflects the Uygur customs. Unique architectural style and hospitable locals are the best choices to experience the local lifestyle and culture. Wander through this magical town, gaze through the crowds and your mind is transported to an exotic medieval city in Central Asia.

Today will be one of the unforgettable experiences as we will first enjoy the Daxigou Apricot Valley. Daxigou is located in the Daxigou Township, northwest of Huocheng County. Here the river twists and turns, and on both sides of the river are continuous mountains which grow all kinds of wild fruits. In spring, the fruits and flowers are in full bloom and the smell is pleasant. Apricot flowers were the first to bloom in Daxigou. Walking among the wild flowers and green hillsides is just like walking in the beautiful natural flower blanket, your body and mind will feel relaxed.

Then we will continue the journey to Sayram Lake, another highlight of your northern Xinjiang tour, which is known as the last drop of tears of the Atlantic. Sayram Lake is a fairyland with wonderful natural scenery, with clear and pure water. Here, you can stroll on the shore, enjoy the blooming wildflowers and the beautiful grassland around.

This wonderful day will start from taking a 6-7 hours' driving back to Urumqi.

We will visit Anjihai Grand Canyon en-route. The Anjihai River originates from the Tianshan Mountains. Through many years of scouring, in the vicinity of Tungut, it was formed a huge alluvial fan under the Northern slope of Tianshan Mountain. The scale of the river valley alluvial fan is quite magnificent, to the north opening with umbrella-shaped, it can be called a geographical wonder. 

Next, let's admire the Shehezi Peach Blossom. Here, in the peach blossom season, all over the mountains is like a pink sea of flowers. In addition, Shehezi will also hold a variety of cultural activities related to peach blossoms, which is also worth your expectation.

Then we will drive to Urumqi for overnight stay. Have a good rest!
