Itinerary

Day 1Arrive in Xining City

Welcome to Xining, the capital of Qinghai Province, with a history of more than 2,100 years. Once it served as a major commercial town on the Silk Road, and a hub for east-west communication. Getting off the plane, you will find your tour guide is already waiting for you at the airport. Along the way to your hotel, you can enjoy the charming natural scenery and learn more about the history, culture and customs of the vast region from the guide. And you can get a nice rest and dinner once arriving at the hotel.

Day 2Explore Grand Kumbum Monastery (Professional Interpretation)

In Xining, what you can't miss is the grand Kumbum Monastery. Nestled in the serene valleys of Qinghai Province, the Monastery, also known as Ta'er Monastery, stands as a beacon of Tibetan Buddhism and a testament to centuries of spiritual devotion. As you approach this sacred site, the air seems to thicken with the scent of incense and the soft murmur of prayers, creating an atmosphere that is both tranquil and profoundly moving. Then you'll set foot on the luxury Silk Road Express to Ruoqiang.

Day 3Explore the Luolan History in Ruoqiang (Professional Interpretation)

After arriving in Ruoqiang, the car will take you to the Milan Ancient City Ruins, the capital of the mysterious Loulan Kingdom along the Silk Road. And to allow you to know more about the Loulan people, the car then will take you to the Loulan Museum. As you enter the museum, you are greeted by the haunting beauty of Loulan's relics—exquisitely preserved textiles, delicate pottery, and ancient documents that speak of a sophisticated and enigmatic culture. Then you will embark on the joyous Silk Road Express excursion to Kuqa.

Day 4Unveil Kuqa City (Professional Interpretation)

Arriving in Kuqa, once the prosperous Qiuci Kingdom and birthplace of the famous “Qiuci Music and Dance”, you'll be first taken to the Kizil Caves, also known as Kizil Thousand-Buddha Caves. To date, there has been 236 preserved caves, of which the most wonderful is the existing tens of thousands of square metres of mural paintings. Afterwards, you will head to the Ancient Kuqa City. Walking through the remnants of this ancient city, you can almost hear the echoes of camel caravans and the bustling markets that once defined its streets. And as you stroll along the Rzestan Street, you can also enjoy a tea there, exploring the combination of the Eastern and Western elements. Then you will embark on the Express again to Kashgar.

Day 5Have a Tour in Kashgar (Professional Interpretation)

Kashgar is a culture-based city. Today you will be first driven to the Gaotai Ancient Homes. Only here can you really feel the pulse of ancient Kashgar from the unique dwellings. It is also, known as a “Living Folk Museum of the Uygur where you will have the opportunity to learn the intangible cultural heritage handicraft-making techniques which are an essential part of the Chinese culture. Next you will head to the Kashgar Ancient City, a bright pearl on the ancient Silk Road. In the end of the day, you will enjoy a Mukam-style dinner (Mukam is a intangible cultural heritage art form). And you will embark on the wonderful Silk Road Express excursion to Hotan.

Day 6End the Tour

Trip Notes

Deposit/Refund Loss

  • Loss of empty berths: the whole train will be booked by us in advance. Thus, the tourist should hand the final payment 45 days before the departure. Once booked, the deposit cannot be returned.

  • If the tourist proposed a withdrawal from the tour, the travel agency will deduct the bunk deposit as follows: 30,000 yuan from the deposit per person, 100.000 yuan from the deposit per suite. (the cost is only for the loss of berths, not the full price of the ticket, we have the right to continue to use the berths, please understand).

  • After the deduction of the berth, the rest of the cost deduction standard as follows: 7-4 days before the trip, charge 30% of the travel cost after the deduction of the berth ticket; 3 days before the trip, charge 30% of the deduction of the berth ticket.

  • On the day of the trip, 80% of the tour cost will be charged except for the cost of berths.


Train Operation

  • With the contract signed, there is no reschedule and transship for the Express taking, and there is no refund if you cannot join us. 

  • If there is a cancellation of the tour, there is no refunds, or any other tours of the same class provided. When for weather, flight cancellation, road collapse, and other force majeures, the tour has to be canceled, but all the costs will not be borne by the agency!

  • The above itinerary is just for reference. If there is no attraction reduction and no lowered standard of service, the agency can make corresponding adjustments to the actual situation. Train specific opening, arrival and departure time is subject to the final order of the Railway Bureau.

  • If the Express comes late or early(not caused by the agency), there will be an adjustment of the itinerary according to the actual situation and no reduction of the attractions or lowered standard of service, but all the losses should be personal.

  • When the Express can not be operated on time for the policy reasons of the Express or the lower than expected number of tourists, the regular train service or full refund will be provided.

  • The price for the itinerary is unified, and there is no ticket discount or refunds.

All the hotels we selected are 4 star well-located in the city center with good and proper breakfast for our clients. 3star hotel in some remote towns where 4stars are not avilable. NO SMOKING rooms will be booked for you

Climate and Altitude

Generally speaking End March—End Oct are the best time to visit Xinjiang. From mid April to mid of August is the best time to explore the vast grassland in Yili River valley which borders with Kazakhstan.Mid may to Mid Oct is the best time to explore north Xinjiang of Kanas Nature park. End March to Mid June, Sept and Oct are the perfect season to South Xinjiang for its pleasant weather and sweet fruits.  No need to worry about high altitude along the Xinjiang. We will prepare Oxygen bags if required. We offer beneficial Cancellation Policy to our customers.
