Welcome to Xining, the capital of Qinghai Province, with a history of more than 2,100 years. Once it served as a major commercial town on the Silk Road, and a hub for east-west communication. Getting off the plane, you will find your tour guide is already waiting for you at the airport. Along the way to your hotel, you can enjoy the charming natural scenery and learn more about the history, culture and customs of the vast region from the guide. And you can get a nice rest and dinner once arriving at the hotel.
In Xining, what you can't miss is the grand Kumbum Monastery. Nestled in the serene valleys of Qinghai Province, Kumbum Monastery, also known as Ta'er Monastery, stands as a beacon of Tibetan Buddhism and a testament to centuries of spiritual devotion. As you approach this sacred site, the air seems to thicken with the scent of incense and the soft murmur of prayers, creating an atmosphere that is both tranquil and profoundly moving. Then you'll set foot on the luxury Silk Road Express to Dachaidan.
Having enjoyed the splendid culture, today the train will take you to harvest some natural beauty at the Emerald Lake in Dachaidan. Tucked away in the heart of the Qaidam Basin, the Lake in Dachaidan is a surreal oasis amidst the vast deserts of Qinghai Province. Its vibrant colors and pristine beauty make it a must-visit destination for those seeking an off-the-beaten-path adventure. Whether capturing reflections of the sky or the play of light on the lake's surface, you will be treated to a visual feast that changes with every step. Then you will embark on the joyous Silk Road Express excursion to Dunhuang.
After arriving in Dunhuang in the morning. you'll head to the world-renowned Mogao Grottoes, where you can admire the exquisite murals and sculptures under the guidance of a professional guide. Immerse yourself in the charm of thousand-year-old Buddhist art and learn about the history and culture of the Silk Road. Apart from that, you will visit the Mingsha Mountains. Under the glow of the setting sun, you can ride a camel through the desert, listening to the rhythmic sound of camel bells, or climb the sand dunes barefoot, feeling the fine sand slip through your fingers.
Today our journey comes to an end. After breakfast, your guide will take you to the airport.

Deposit/Refund Loss
Loss of empty seats: the whole train will be booked by us in advance. Thus, the tourist should hand the final payment 45 days before the departure. Once booked, the deposit cannot be returned.
If the tourist proposed a withdrawal from the tour, the travel agency will deduct the bunk deposit as follows: 30,000 yuan from the deposit per person, 100.000 yuan from the deposit per suite. (the cost is only for the loss of berths, not the full price of the ticket, we have the right to continue to use the berths, please understand).
After the deduction of the berth, the rest of the cost deduction standard as follows: 7-4 days before the trip, charge 30% of the travel cost after the deduction of the berth ticket; 3 days before the trip, charge 30% of the deduction of the berth ticket.
On the day of the trip, 80% of the tour cost will be charged except for the cost of berths.
Train Operation
With the contract signed, there is no reschedule and transship for the Express taking, and there is no refund if you cannot join us.
If there is a cancellation of the tour, there is no refunds, or any other tours of the same class provided. When for weather, flight cancellation, road collapse, and other force majeures, the tour has to be canceled, but all the costs will not be borne by the agency!
The above itinerary is just for reference. If there is no attraction reduction and no lowered standard of service, the agency can make corresponding adjustments to the actual situation. train specific opening, arrival and departure time to the final order of the Railway Bureau and the station scheduling shall prevail.
If the Express comes late or early (not caused by the agency), there will be an adjustment of the itinerary according to the actual situation and no reduction of the attractions or lowered standard of service, but all the losses should be personal.
When the Express can not be operated on time for the policy reasons of the Express or the lower than expected number of tourists, the regular train service or full refund will be provided.
The price for the itinerary is unified, and there is no ticket discount or refunds!
All the hotels we selected are 4 star well-located in the city center with good and proper breakfast for our clients. 3star hotel in some remote towns where 4stars are not avilable. NO SMOKING rooms will be booked for you

Generally speaking End March—End Oct are the best time to visit Xinjiang. From mid April to mid of August is the best time to explore the vast grassland in Yili River valley which borders with Kazakhstan.Mid may to Mid Oct is the best time to explore north Xinjiang of Kanas Nature park. End March to Mid June, Sept and Oct are the perfect season to South Xinjiang for its pleasant weather and sweet fruits. No need to worry about high altitude along the Xinjiang.
