9 Days Northern Xinjiang Tour

Today your flight will touch down in Urumqi. We will meet you at the airport exit with a welcome board. Then a comfortable drive will send you to the local hotel for check in. The rest of the day is free to explore the city on your own. Rest up and get ready for tomorrow's adventure!

Today we will start our tour from visiting the Heavenly Lake, a picturesque Alpine lake. Upon arrival, we will change the scenic shuttle bus and enjoy the different view up to the mountains. Bule sky, clouds, snow-capped mountain and pine trees.

Then drive to Fuyun county. On the way, you can enjoy the stunning Huoshaoshan (Burning Mountain), where you will witness a sea of red, caused by burnt rocks that look as if they are still burning along the hills.

Today's highlight is a morning excursion to Keketuohai National Geological Park. 

On the way there, you can enjoy the beautiful Kekesuli. As one of the main components of the Keketuohai scenic area, it is a naturally formed marsh. In the geological park, you will see "Haizi Kou" and explore the Tunnel of Mine No 3, which comprises many types of minerals. Take a tram ride and travel along Irtysh Grand Canyon till you reach Shenzhong Mountain and visit the "Earthquake Museum".

After visiting, we will drive back to Fuyun and spend the night there.

Arrangements for today make for the experience of a lifetime.

We will first head to visit the Hemu village, which is also known as the first village in China. The Scenic Spot is located in Burqin County, Altay District, about 30 kilometres east of Kanas Lake. It is an exquisite and unique wooden house village with a small bridge and magnificent scenery. Meanwhile, you can also experience the unique lifestyle of Tuvas, which is quite worth to visit.

Exciting day! We will drive along the mountain road to the amazing Kanas Nature Reserve, China's only European-like ecological site that has been awarded the title of the "Pure Land of the World" due to its unspoiled natural scenery.

Have a lunch when we arrive in Kanas Jiadengyu. After that, we will go to the center of park and take the shuttle bus to visit the famous Moon bay, Dragon Bay and Immortal Bay.

Then continue the tour to Fish Pavilion for a bird's-eye view of Kanas Lake and its surroundings. You can also experience the cruise if you have interest.

Later afternoon we will check into the hotel for rest.

In the morning, wake up leisurely and still enjoy the scenery of Kanas Nature Reserve. It is the most beautiful mountain lake you have never seen. The lake takes on different colors following the four seasons of the year. Sometimes it's crystal blue, sometimes it's dark green, or even gray.

Afternoon we will head to Burqin and enjoy the sunset of Five-colored Beach. Walking into the colorful Beach, you will feel as if in a dream world. The unique lava landscape consisted of purplish red, vandyke red, yellow and light green mudstone, sandstone and gravel. This is the most beautiful colorful Beach, masterpiece of nature, and miracle of Burqin.

Say farewell to Burqin and we will continue the trip to Dushanzi to start our exciting tour on the beautiful Duku Highway.

On the way, we will visit the Urho Ghost City, also known as "Wuerhe Wind City", a unique wind-eroded geological area commonly referred to as "wind city" because of the frequent howling winds. It is also the most beautiful Yadan Landform in this region.

When we arrive at the entrance, we will take the shuttle bus to visit the entire Ghost city, which is shaped like a small train.

Afterwards, drive to Kuitun to have an overnight stay.

A wonderful day starts from driving along the Duku highway.

We will pass by the Dushanzi Grand Canyon with 100-400 meters wide. After the river rushes out of the Tianshan Mountains, it cuts into the magical scenic canyon formed by the sloping plain to the southwest of Dushanzi. The terraces on both sides of the canyon can be clearly seen, which can be divided into at least 9 levels. The alluvial gullies formed by the snow and rainwater flowing down from the Tianshan Mountains through the soil here carved out these strange landscapes on the valley walls. The canyon starts from the foot of the mountain and forms distinct layers of soil on the grassland. Standing on the top of the canyon, you can see all the scenery and it will more than live up to all of your expectations!

Spend a comfortable night in Urumqi and have breakfast. Today you will be transferred to the airport to catch your flight back home. Wish you a pleasant journey and hope to see you again in your next China trip!
