Today, you'll traverse approximately 200 km (4–5 hours) through the breathtaking Gez River gorge, marveling at the rugged landscapes. As you ascend to 3,900 meters, the stunning Karakul Lake will come into view, its crystal-clear waters reflecting the surrounding peaks. Your home for the night will be a cozy yurt or tent, where you can soak in the serenity of the wilderness under a star-studded sky.
After a short 10 km drive, you'll meet your trusty caravan of horses and camels, ready to carry your gear as you embark on a 4-hour trek to the base camp. Along the way, vibrant alpine flowers, playful marmots, and awe-inspiring vistas will keep you company, making the journey feel like a dream. By the time you arrive at the base camp, you'll be eager to rest in your tent, surrounded by the grandeur of Muztagh-Ata.
These days are dedicated to conquering the mighty Muztagh-Ata Peak. You'll establish high-altitude camps, adapt to the thin air, and prepare for the summit push. While meals and tents are provided at the base camp for 10 days, the extra days ensure flexibility in case of unpredictable weather. This is your time to push your limits, embrace the adventure, and stand atop one of the world's most iconic peaks!
After a hearty breakfast, descend to Subash Village, where your luggage will be transported by camels or horses. A comfortable bus will then take you back to Kashgar, where a warm dinner and a cozy hotel bed await. Take this evening to relax and reminisce about your incredible achievement.
Today, immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Kashgar. Wander through the famous Sunday Bazaar, a sensory explosion of colors, scents, and sounds. Visit the magnificent Id Kah Mosque and lose yourself in the labyrinthine alleys of the Old Town, where Uygur-style houses and bustling tea shops tell stories of centuries past. Generally speaking End March—End Oct are the best time to visit Xinjiang. From mid April to mid of August is the best time to explore the vast grassland in Yili River valley which borders with Kazakhstan.Mid may to Mid Oct is the best time to explore north Xinjiang of Kanas Nature park. End March to Mid June, Sept and Oct are the perfect season to South Xinjiang for its pleasant weather and sweet fruits. No need to worry about high altitude along the Xinjiang.
