Rock Carvings in Hami There have found over 40 sites of rock carvings in the Tianshan Mountains to the north of Hami. The composition and engraving skills of these rock carvings vividly reflect the cultures and standard of living of the nomads here. The contents of these rock carvings include not only animal figures but also scenes of hunting, riding, herding, dancing, fighting and procreation worshiping, and images of god and symbols, etc. The rock carvings are in Hami are mostly the remains of the Bronze Age, the Hun and Turkic times.
