The Hejing Ethnological Museum originally is the mansion of Mancukzab, the last Khan of the Turgut Mongol Tribe, built in 1927, combining both Chinese and Western architectural styles. The extant parts of it consist of main hall, eastern palace and western palace, covering an area of about 903 square meters. The main hall is a two-storey building built with bricks and timbers. On both sides of main hall respectively stand eastern and western palaces, which consist of bedrooms, parlor, dining room and storage. Now it is renovated to be the Hejing Ethnological Museum, and is listed as a major cultural site under the autonomous region protection
