The Carved Stone with Patterns of Deer is a kind of carved stone in the shape of stele. It has the name because of its carved designs of deer. These kind of carved stones are distributed over Eurasian prairies and can be divided into three types according to their patterns. The first is typical ones, having the patterns of deer abstracted. The second one is non-typical, carved with diagonal lines, linked dots and weapons. The last has realistic patterns of deer, cattle, horse, sheep, pig and donkey. The origin of these carved stones can be traced back to the 13th century B.C., and they existed till the 4th to 5th century B.C. There are more than 30 carved stones with patterns of deer found in Qinghe and Fuyun counties in Altay Prefecture, mostly belonging to typical ones and non-typical ones.
