Kekeya is a place in the desert south of Tianshan Mountains, to the northeast Wensu County and Aksu City. On the northern brim of the Taklamakan Desert, it’s very blowy and the sand blown by wind becomes a disaster. Thus local people energetically carry on tree planting and forestation activities for over 10 years. Today, continually extending into the desert, the plantation has expanded to over 30,000 mu, and become along green belt to prevent wind and sand.
